StrutMate UK is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. Contact: strutmate@protonmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Identity & contact: name, email address, phone number.
- Vehicle details: registration, make, model, year, engine, parts requested.
- Free-text notes you choose to send us.
- Technical: IP address (used briefly for abuse prevention), browser type.
3. Why we use it
- To prepare and send you a suspension quote (legitimate interest / pre-contract).
- To process and fulfil any order you place (contract).
- To respond to your enquiries and provide after-sales support.
- To detect and prevent spam, fraud or abuse of the website (legitimate interest).
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent and we never sell your data.
4. Who we share it with
We only share data with essential service providers acting under contract on our behalf, including our hosting/database provider and email delivery service. These providers process data within the UK / EEA or under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law.
5. How long we keep it
- Quote requests that don't become orders: up to 24 months.
- Order and customer records: 7 years (HMRC requirement).
- Technical/abuse logs: up to 90 days.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data erased (where we no longer need it).
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Cookies
We only use strictly necessary cookies required for the website to function (for example, to keep you signed in to the admin area). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your data is stored in encrypted databases with strict access controls. The admin area is protected by individual login accounts with leaked-password protection enabled. Despite our best efforts, no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for any account you create with us.
